Recognizing Phishing and Spam Emails

What to Watch Out For:

  • Unexpected emails requesting personal or financial information
  • Messages with urgent or threatening language
  • Suspicious links or attachments
  • Emails from unfamiliar senders or addresses that closely resemble legitimate contacts

 

How to Protect Yourself:

  • Never click on links or download attachments from unknown sources
  • Verify the sender’s email address carefully
  • Do not provide sensitive information in response to unsolicited emails
  • Report any suspicious emails to the Service Desk immediately

 

If you suspect an email is spam or a phishing attempt:

  1. Do not interact with the email.
  2. Report it to the Service Desk immediately 
  3. Delete the email from your inbox after reporting.

 

If you have accidentally clicked on any links or opened any attachments from a suspicious email, please contact the Service Desk immediately.
